Lieutenant Colonel George N Bomford led the 42nd New York Infantry at Antietam and was wounded in action there. This carte-de-visite photograph of him was sold by Centurion Auctions in 2018.

41 year old Robert S. Stevenson, a Private in the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry, was killed – shot down with seven bullets – while carrying the regimental colors in action at Antietam. His photograph contributed to Findagrave by Jesse Crisler.

Young Private Elijah M Daihl enlisted in Shippensburg in the 130th Pennsylvania Infantry and was killed at Antietam about six weeks later at Antietam. His photograph is in the collection of the Shippensburg Historical Society.
