Pvt Edward G Sydnor

Private Edward Garland Sydnor was a student at Columbian College (now George Washington University) in Washington, DC but enlisted when he turned 18, in June 1861, in the 18th Virginia Infantry. He was killed at Sharpsburg on 17 September 1862 while bearing the colors.

His photograph is in Miller’s Photographic History of the Civil War (1911).
